Questions

Before you go.

What does Silk & Stone include?

Every journey is all-inclusive: business-class flights from North America, the China visa route and paperwork, private airport transfers, top five-star hotels and experiences, Michelin-starred restaurant reservations, a private English-speaking guide and interpreter, and a 24/7 concierge.

Do U.S. and Canadian travelers need a visa for China?

Canadian passports currently qualify for visa-free short stays. U.S. travelers can use 240-hour visa-free transit when the route and provinces qualify, or a 10-year L tourist visa — for example for Dunhuang in Gansu. We choose the route and prepare the forms; rules are confirmed for each proposal.

How much does a private luxury trip to China cost?

Most journeys fall between US$10,000 and US$40,000+ per person, all-inclusive with business-class flights, depending on length, hotels and season. You receive one all-inclusive price in your proposal.

How long until I receive a proposal?

Within 48 hours of answering six short questions. You can confirm with one click or refine it on a 15-minute call.

Can you book Michelin-starred Chinese restaurants?

Yes. We secure tables at starred Chinese restaurants in Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Hangzhou and Guangzhou, pre-arrange menus around your diet and arrange the car there and back.

Will I have a guide who speaks English?

Yes. A private English-speaking guide and interpreter can join you every day or at key sites — from scholars at the Mogao Caves to Tibetan hosts on the plateau.
